Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information BeatMotion (“we”, “us”, the “App”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the BeatMotion website (beatmotion.app) and the BeatMotion macOS application.

We designed BeatMotion to keep your content on your device. We do not upload, store, or have access to your screen recordings.

Information we collect

Recordings and content. BeatMotion records your screen locally on your Mac. Recordings, edits, and exports are stored on your device and are never transmitted to us.

Purchase and license data. Payments are processed by our reseller, Lemon Squeezy (see “Third-party services”). When you buy a license, we receive limited order and license information needed to activate and support your purchase, such as your email address, order ID, license key, and subscription status. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Support communications. If you email us, we receive the contents of your message and your email address so we can respond.

Website usage. The website is a static site and does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may process standard server logs (such as IP address and user agent) for security and reliability.

How we use information

  • To activate and validate your license and subscription.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • To process refunds and manage billing through our reseller.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Cookies

The BeatMotion website does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Strictly necessary cookies or local storage may be used to operate core functionality. Third-party services we link to, such as the Lemon Squeezy checkout, set their own cookies under their own policies when you visit them.

Third-party services

We rely on the following service providers, who process data under their own privacy policies:

  • Lemon Squeezy — Merchant of Record for payments, licensing, and refunds.
  • GitHub — hosts application downloads and releases.

Data retention

We retain purchase and license records for as long as needed to provide the service, support your purchase, and meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations. Support emails are retained as long as necessary to handle your request.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. For payment-related data, you may also contact Lemon Squeezy directly.

Children

BeatMotion is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
